As a contribution to the More or Less x Matches fashion exhibition, Phoebe English was commissioned to create an exhibition piece made entirely from leftover, excess, non-virgin material. Draped across the body in a chaotic placement, the garlands made from leftover tulle from the studio, was fit over a single layer slip dress.

PHOEBE ENGLISH was asked to be a featured designer in the first edition of the new cultural exhibition ‘Homo Faber’ in Venice, Italy. PHOEBE ENGLISH was commissioned by Grand Marnier to launch the first of their “Grand Experiences” series. Phoebe designed an evening of dance inspired by mixology, in collaboration with The Mandrake Hotel and Chivaree Circus Company. Bespoke pieces were created by Phoebe for the choreographed interactive dance performed by three contortionists.
PHOEBE ENGLISH collaborated with the artist and puppet maker Judith Hope on a collection of intricate, emotive marionettes created to display the SS18 show. The collection of puppets was then later added to for an exhibition at the V&A, and Judith and Phoebe collaborated again to create a further collection for the label’s retrospective show.
PHOEBE ENGLISH collaborated with Zaha Hadid Designs on the show “The Extraordinary Process” at gallery Maison Mais Non alongside Iris Van Herpen and Stephen Jones. Phoebe English was commissioned to design a piece for the exhibtion. Titled “Shelter”, the piece was made from hand-stitched smocked calico.
PHOEBE ENGLISH was named as one of twelve 2016 BFC Fashion Trust grant recipients. Set up in 2011 by the British Fashion Council, The Fashion Trust is a charitable initiative to support the work of UK designers. We’re honoured that we were included.
