The Split Seam family are crafted from experiments into various patch working techniques to form new textured surfaces. We developed this method of purposely leaving the corners unstitched where each panel joins to the next in turn creates hidden crosses or a star motif across the garment. These star splits are quite active in the garment as it is worn, creating a type of hinge in the how the garment hangs, curves and bends around the body.

These garments were entirely made from pre consumer textile waste and deadstock fabric. This ‘responsive design process’, where we are directly responding to the quantities of a particular textile waste stream at the design stage with our design development, has become the key focus of how we work in the studio.

In order to minimise waste and stick to our slow ideals we operate a ‘made to order’ process for this garment. It will be delivered to you 4-6 weeks from payment.
